NATIONAL CADET CORPS

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian Military cadet corps. It is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from Schools, Colleges and Universities. The NCC in India was formed with the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. The NCC Headquarter is situated in R.K. Puram, New Delhi. In the Vaish College, NCC was started in the year 1962. NCC unit of the College belongs to 11 Har Bn NCC, Bhiwani. The college has Coy. 2/11 and Coy. 4/11 of Army Wing with the authorized strength of 160 and 107 respectively. According to the DG NCC, New Delhi letter, 33% reservation of the authorised strength is given to the girl students. NCC cadets enrolled in the college are largest in number all over Haryana.

NCC cadets of the college have been performed the best activity in Annual Training Camps, Army Attachment Camps, National Integration Camps and Thal Sainik Camps etc. SUO Sachin (Regimental No. HAR/SDA/21/264864) participated in Republic Day Camp-2024 at Delhi. Sgt. Sagar (Regimental No. HAR/SDA/21/264860) participated in the Directorate Level 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Independance Camp' held at Jalandhar, Punjab from 21 July 2022-30 July 2022 and several other camps. He represented culture and tradition of Haryana before Shri Narender Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on the occassion of Independance Day 2022. SUO Kulbir (Regimental No. HAR/SDA/17/265035) won many prizes in various Training Camps. He was awarded Best Cadetof NCC Group Rohtak.

Maj. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Tanwar,  Lt. (Dr.) Reena are working as Associate NCC Officers (ANO) and Dr. Manish Kumar as the Care Taker (CT)  for the Coy. 2/11 & Coy. 4/11. The unit gives opportunity to the college students to grow academically and professionally. Many students of the college having NCC ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates are being selected in Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy at different positions every year. The NCC cadets serving for the nation are the proud of this institution.

Aim of NCC

The main aim of NCC is to develop moral good character, leadership, discipline, the spirit of adventure, motivation, courage and selfless service amongst the young citizen to serve the nation. The NCC also provides an ideal environment for young to join the armed forces. The cadets are encouraged to serve the nation by becoming the part of Indian army or civil servant.

Motto of NCC

The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline” taken from the final decision in the 12th Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting held on 12th October 1980.

Benefits of NCC

The NCC cadets are directly associated with the Ministry of Defence and work along the armed forces.

  • By Youth Exchange Programmes the cadets get opportunities to visit foreign countries and learn the culture and civilisation of different countries.
  • NCC Welfare Society provides scholarship for meritorious NCC cadets.
  • NCC cadets scoring 50% aggregate marks in Graduation and bearing NCC ‘C’ certificate with ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade are exempted from the CDS written examination and are called directly for SSB interview. They have to pass out the interview and physical fitness for Short Service Commission (NCC special entry scheme).
  • NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate holders get incentives of Marks in different exams conducted by Indian Military Services.
  • NCC trained cadets are given priority in the recruitments in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Force and state police services etc.
  • State Governments, Central Governments, Corporate and Industrial sectors (like BSNL, Reliance, Aditya Birla Groups etc.) provide opportunities and give priority to NCC trained students.
  • Weightage in Marks is given to the NCC ‘C’ or ‘B’ certificate holders in the admissions of PG courses offered by Colleges, Universities, NITs and IITs etc.
